Difference between homes for the aged and nursing homes. Print E-mail

Q: What's the difference between homes for the aged and nursing homes?

A: A nursing home is a long term care facility that is usually privately run and a home for the aged is frequently run by the local municipality or a religious or ethnic group and is typically not-for-profit.   All long term care facilities receive funding from the provincial government.
